Here's what I wore to go to an orientation day with baby T:
Sunglasses: Rayban new Wayfarers
Shirt: Choies chiffon fret print shirt (C/O Choies)
Shorts: Jeanswest denim cuff shorts
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
It's the first and last time you'll see this shirt! I ordered it from Choies, along with my strawberry print shirt, a few weeks back. Out of the two shirts, I liked this one the most. It was the same bargain price, I just prefer the blue print over the pink print. However, I can't give this shirt the good review I gave the strawberry one last time I wore it. When I took this off at the end of the day, it had torn really badly under one of the arms. It can't be repaired, so I've had to throw out the top. I'm not too upset as I didn't pay anything for the shirt, but if I had paid for it I would have been really annoyed. The benefit of buying from Australian brands is that you have some support if something goes wrong. You don't really get that when ordering from overseas companies.
I wore this outfit for baby T's first orientation day at day care. I'm not sure if all childcare centres do this, but it basically meant I could go hang out at the centre for a day with baby T and see how they run things, while letting him get used to the place and people. It will make the transition easier for him when I go back to work.
I had no idea what to wear! I went with the shirt as the long sleeves would keep me warm if the aircon was cranked up, and button down shirts are a really easy option for life with baby when trying to look a little more dressed up. Shorts because it was still a really hot summer day, and Converse as I wanted closed in comfortable shoes. I'm not sure the look of the shirt works with the casual shorts and Chucks, but I was in a hurry and the outfit had seemed good in my head when I planned it, so I wore it out anyway.
I would have liked to have tried to wear the shirt again and worn it a different way, shame it tore so easily. I hope it hadn't been like that all day! I didn't notice until I took it off at night. No one said anything so I'm thinking it might have torn on the way home when I put the baby bag over my shoulder, and hopefully not from all the picking up and putting down of baby T I was doing during the day at day care.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wafarer, denim shorts, Converse all star, Balenciaga tempete Day. First and last wearing of the shirt.
Here's what I wore to spend the afternoon with my mother in law:
Tee: Atmos&Here oversized stripe tee
Shorts: Jeanswest 'Scarlette' printed shorts (on sale!)
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Another casual and comfortable shorts outfit! I picked these shorts to wear as I bought them in November thinking they'd get a lot of wear over summer...and I've only worn them 4 times so far. Autumn is creeping up already! It's crazy how fast time flies. It won't be long before I'm back at work.
Thought I would try a bit of print mixing again with these shorts, with this striped tee. It was a really humid and sticky day despite the rain, so I wanted to keep the outfit simple. Not entirely convinced the baggy tee and voluminous shorts work together. I love both pieces on their own, but together, not so much. Was comfortable for spending the day with baby T and my mother in law though.
Last worn: stripe tee, printed shorts, Havaianas, Balenciaga Day bag (above).
