Orange pants, pink nails

I have a small confession. I bought these pants at Asos thinking that they were red pants, not orange. I was using a different computer that evidently had major issues showing colours. I think I love them even more than the red ones though!

Here's what I wore today:
Singlet: Sass & Bide Musical Genius tank
Necklace: Black multi chain necklace from Indigo Rose Design
Bracelets: the usual
Jeans: Burnt Ochre orange pants from Vero Moda at Asos
Bag: Vintage Chanel chevron evening bag
Nail polish: Chanel 535 May pink polish (gift from my bestie)

Closeup of accessories on the polish on my nails:

I have owned 2 pairs of bright pants before: a bright pink pair when I was much younger that I loved, and a red pair of Ripcurl ones a few years ago. I no longer have either, and I doubt I would fit into them if I did.

Here's an old pic of the red ones:

What do you think is better, red pants or orange pants? Could I justify buying a red pair too?

Purple and Prints: Jeans and Tee Outfits With Cardigans and Magenta Bags

Two kind of similar jeans and tee outfits I wore recently with prints, purple, cardigans, and magenta bags.

What I wore:

Sass Bide printed skinny jeans with grey cardigan lilac tee and magenta marc by marc jacobs bag | awayfromblue

grey cardigan and Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Paper Scissors grey wrap cardigan
Earrings: Kmart silver leaf drop chandelier earrings
Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Jeans:  Sass & Bide Playman skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet with Rebecca Minkoff Crystal Star Shoulder Guitar strap

Why I wore it:

Not entirely sure that this outfit worked. I love all the pieces separately, but together I just wasn't feeling it. I wanted this purple tee to bring a bit of colour for a zoom call I had that day, and the cardigan was a good choice for both the school run and being comfortable while working from home.

I'd thought about wearing a statement necklace or pair of earrings the night before but hadn't actually decided what I'd go with. I ran out of time trying a couple options that morning so settled on classic silver with this Tiffany heart necklace and the silver dangly leaf earrings. The earrings feel a bit dressy for such a casual outfit, but they worked well to make me feel pulled together for my long zoom call during the day. I did however take them off for the school run - with mask rules in place in Brisbane meaning I need to wear masks indoors and when dropping off or picking up the kids. It's easier to take masks off and on without statement earrings like this!

I thought this Marc By Marc Jacobs bag would be nice as I really didn't have to carry much - just the essentials, and it has a main compartment for my wallet and phone, a pocket for car keys, a pocket for hand sanitiser and a front pocket for my mask! Perfect. I really like how it looks with the lilac tee too.

Last worn: grey cardigan, silver earrings, heart necklace, purple tee, chevron print skinny jeansConverse, Rebecca Minkoff bag strap, Marc By Marc Jacobs convertible clutch.

Other ways to weargrey cardigan and flared jeans, purple tee and maxi skirt, chevron print skinny jeans with pink and purple, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff bag strap on love bag, Marc By Marc Jacobs convertible clutch and midi dress.

What I wore:

leopard print tee with navy waterfall cardigan, converse, magenta edie bag and purple skinny jeans | awayfromblue

navy cardigan with Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Jeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in navy night sky marle
Necklace: Chanel necklace layered with Tiffany diamonds by the yard necklace
Tee: Kmart grey leopard print tee
Jeans: Jeanswest blackberry super skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:

I liked the colours of the outfit above, so repeated it again a couple of days later. And repeated the Converse too! This time I wore the Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag in magenta, purple jeans and a printed top. I noticed this old grey leopard print tee in my wardrobe and realised it was overdue a wear! It was a bargain $2 sale find in winter 2019, but this is only it's fifth wear since I bought it. Not bad at 40 cents a wear, but I really should wear it more. I thought the grey leopard print looked good with the navy cardigan and purple jeans.

Tried a little necklace layering too with the round neck letting me pair two shorter silver necklaces together, instead of a big long statement necklace as I'd usually wear. Not a huge difference but nice to try a little departure from my regular accessorising!

Was a quiet day so this was a really comfortable outfit for it - school run in the morning, some errands and an appointment with the little one afterwards, and our regular library run too.

Last worn: navy cardigan, diamond necklace, Chanel necklace, grey leopard print tee, purple skinny jeans, black Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearnavy cardigan and shorts, grey leopard print tee with mustard, purple skinny jeans worn 30 ways, black Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff magenta Edie crossbody bag and printed shorts.

Perfect for pregnancypurple jeans in first trimester, Converse in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It

Pink and purple look good together! A magenta or pink bag can be a fun accessory worn with something purple in your outfit - from a light lilac to deeper purple shades.

One day, two outfits

Busy Saturday today! I wore one outfit during the day and swapped to another in the evening. Does anyone else do that? :)

Here's what I wore to vote in the state election, run some errands and take Cooper to the groomers:
Singlet: Oscar's Law pink ladies singlet (from http://www.oscarslaw.org/)
Necklace: gift from DH
Bracelets: the usual
Jeans: Jeanswest
Thongs: Cotton On
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in Aquamarine with python embossed leather from shopbop
Can of solo: fundraising BBQ!

DH snapped this as we were enjoying a quick bite to eat at the BBQ after voting, that's why I'm sitting on a wall with a can of solo! hehe.

Cooper looks much better after his grooming - and he can see again! His face was getting too fluffy, he was really overdue a good cut.

Here's a quick before and after:
He's much happier after!

We are eading out to a friend's for dinner and drinks tonight so I changed what I was wearing. Cooper always wants cuddles after being at the groomers and although I love it, it means I get covered in cut hair. Not a good look for going out.

Here's what I'm wearing to dinner:
Top: just jeans black lace trim singlet
Bracelets: the usual
Pants: Burnt Ochre orange pants from Vero Moda at Asos
Wedges: Ninewest "Quicken" wedges in natural
Bag: vintage Chanel chevron evening bag

And now I have to go or I will be late. Have a great Saturday night everyone :)

Tiki Style in a maxi dress

Today's outfit is my entry into the Frivolous Friday challenge over at the Fashionoclast. This week's theme is Tiki Style!

I thought it would be wonderfully easy until I realised I gave all my hula girl costume accessories to my mum when I returned the grass skirt she lent me. But the show must go on so I threw on the loudest dress I own (recent purchase actually) and a flower in my hair to make a challenge-worthy outfit.

What I wore today:

Dress: Somedays Lovin White Heart tiger Maxi dress (modified and worn strapless as it's much too long otherwise)
Flower in my hair: Frangipani from the tree in the garden
Necklace: Juicy Couture charm on a chain, both gifted from my bestie.
Bracelets: the usual plus some labradorite ones made by a talented friend
Shoes:  Asos flirt leather sandals (hidden by the flared hem of the dress)
Bag: vintage Chanel chevron evening bag
Cute fluffy doggy: Our adopted Shih Tzu cross Cooper.

Closeup of accessories:

Was the perfect thing to wear for a BBQ lunch at the in-laws house. We spent the evening relaxing in the back yard with Cooper before I had to go online for Church Online. Here's a fun picture of Cooper in the hammock with DH :)

If you do have some spare time this weekend or this upcoming week you can check out the message playing at church online - it's a really good one called 30 second theology  It's watching a bunch of moving, sad, funny and hilarious commercials from around the world and talking about them for a bit. Covers everything from parents to self esteem and beauty, safety, how precious life is and power. Good stuff! http://30secondtheology.com/

Saturday and Sunday: Fright Night Jeans and Tee, Colour Blocked Maxi Dress

Combining two days outfits into one, so a lot of pictures today!

Here's what I wore to go to Fright Night at Movie World theme park on Saturday:
TopWildfox Skeleton grunge long sleeve black tee
PantsVero Moda at Asos Burnt Ochre orange jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Deep Purple MAC

We had so much fun at Fright Night! For this year, the entire theme park was turned into the zombie apocalypse - there was smoke, zombies and lots of mazes to get lost and scared in. I have some photos on instagram here if you want to see more.

We went because my friend loves scary movies and Halloween and really wanted to go. She wasn't scared once, but I jumped a lot in the mazes when there were people jumping out at you and lots of loud noises! I'm not a scary movie fan  at all, but it was still good as there were a lot of amazing costumes and zombies walking around in the foggy park.

The psycho 3D maze was my favourite though. You put on 3D glasses and walked through a maze as the walls moved and people with masks that glowed in the dark would pop out right next to your face, but it was more fascinating than scary. The highlight was when the 3 macho guys at the front of our line dissolved into hysterics when one of the neon mask people sat at the side of the path and blocked our way, we all walked out laughing!

The tee was last worn here, pants here, shoes here and bag here.

Here's what I wore on Sunday:
NecklaceJuicy Couture bonsai charm on a gold chain, both gifted from my bestie
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge bracelet in black and white and Oscar's Law bracelet
Dress: Cotton On Colour blocked maxi in black / Algiers blue
ShoesAsos metallic Freestyle leather sandals
Bag: Vintage Chanel chevron evening bag

Close up of accessories and bag:

Sunday was relaxing after the very late night on Saturday. We went to the shops, took Cooper to the groomers and relaxed in the hammock in the back yard for most of the day. And of course, Church Online in the evening.

I really like the hi-lo hemline on this dress, although the photo doesn't show it off too well. It was the perfect lightweight dress for the heat today.

Hope you all had a great weekend - the weather in Brisbane has been fantastic!

The sandals were last worn here and bag here. It's the first time I've worn the dress as it's a new purchase.
